Overview

The Uplighting Project has transformed Chinatown's streets with lanterns, decorative lighting, and illuminated cultural landmarks, creating a safer, more vibrant neighbourhood after dark.

Delivered through collaboration between community partners, businesses, donors, and government, the project strengthened local pride, enhanced the visitor experience, and contributed to Chinatown's ongoing revitalization.

We are honoured to have collaborated with the City of Vancouver, Dr. Sun Yat-Sen Classical Chinese Garden, the Chin Wing Chun Tong Society, and the Lees to illuminate the following:

- the Millenium Gate
- the exterior walls of the Dr. Sun Yat Sen Classical Chinese Garden
- the Chin Wing Chun Tong Society association building
- the Lee association building
- trees and lanterns on 16 blocks of Chinatown from Carrall to Gore Streets
