Overview

Operated by Vancouver Coastal Health, the Lily Lee Community Health Centre Hastings is a 50,000-square-foot facility situated on the first two floors of Bob & Michael’s Place.

This state-of-the-art integrated health care facility will provide community health support and resources to the residents at Bob & Michael’s Place and the community at large.

Lily’s Story

Lily Lee was born and raised in Alert Bay, a village on Cormorant Island, on the northeastern tip of Vancouver Island. At 16, Lily left home to attend the University of British Columbia, where she studied to become a nurse, and ultimately became a public health nurse in the Downtown Eastside and Strathcona. With a lifelong passion for helping and caring for her community, Lily Lee donated $3.8 million to the health centre in hopes of bringing specialized care to the neighbourhood. The centre was named in her honour in 2022.
