Thank you for helping our seniors stay safe and restaurants survive during this pandemic!
Thank you for supporting us. The food is great! I like that they are from different restaurants.

The food is very tasty. Thank you very much. It has been nice that I don’t have to worry about how I’m going to get food safely every week.
– May Wah Resident, age 70
This program has helped us and our employees. We also wanted to support the May Wah. We are all part of one community.

We have been hit hard by this pandemic. By donating to this cause, you are not only feeding those in need, but you are also helping restaurants to survive.
– Perkin, The Boss Bakery
Lately, the residents have been smiling more. They are happy that people care for them. Thank you. You have helped the May Wah regain its sense of community when they cannot have their usual social activities.
– Anthony, building manager
Happy help out the people around in Chinatown […] It’s my 47th year in Canada, and the restaurant is 39 years already. It’s almost time for me to retire. It’s good to do just one more thing for neighbourhood. Thank you for the support.

Meals for the
Meals for the May Wah provides hot daily meals for the seniors at our May Wah Hotel while also supporting Chinatown small businesses.
COVID-19, increased racial hostility, and closed businesses are conditions that the residents have to navigate right now. Restaurants in Chinatown have also been facing increased property damage crimes and significant drops in revenue.
With a gift-matching program in place by an anonymous group of long-time Chinatown supporters, we exceeded our goal on May 17. The additional funds raised during this campaign will be redirected to other May Wah Hotel programs.
